The new, customizable Demag standard

With Systec, Demag Plastics Group has created a transparent, modular platform providing customers with comprehensive assistance in selecting the machine that meets their specific requirements. Systematically graded and modular throughout, the Systec range allows quick formulation of the optimum machine specification and provides processors with extended capabilities to cater to all market and customer requirements. Systec is equipped with an enhanced machine control system using state-of-the-art computer technology coupled with ergonomic operation, developed from our successful NC4 system. Thus equipped, the machine offers better economy with reduced maintenance costs, setup times, spare parts stock-keeping and a more efficient as well as productive operation.

Delivered within very short deadlines straight after machine specification, the Systec range guarantees a high product quality and helps your production meet future challenges.

Customised and efficient multiple-level configuration

Systec’s four modular configuration levels ensure that the machine can provide a reliable and tailor-made solution for every task, be it maximum economic efficiency for standard jobs, full versatility to accommodate changing jobs or top performance for high-end jobs. An additional range of different upgrade packages allows a precise extension of the machine’s performance range to closely match the users’ needs.

Extensive standard equipment
 
From basic to high-performance operation featuring parallel movement of all machine axes, the machine series provides the best possible solution for every job. Performance and scope of the Systec configuration levels are exclusively geared towards meeting practical user requirements:

• Start-up and shut-down program
• Constant L/D screw ratio for versatility and optimum melt quality
• Automatic screw recognition and conversion of setting data
• Non-contact ultrasound sensors for all machine movements
• Active mould protection (As from "Smart" configuration level, equipped with "activeQ")

Upgrade packages

For every Systec configuration level, Demag offers its tried-and-tested upgrade packages to provide operators with a cost-efficient, comprehensive upgrading option for their specific application requirements.

Linear guides provide a high degree of movement performance
 
An outstanding feature of the Systec is its high degree of movement performance. Standard linear guides reduce movement resistance and so not only save force and energy but also permit higher speeds and, consequently, faster cycle times. Linear guides also provide higher-precision platen parallelism. This also improves process consistency. Optionally, an additional hydraulic accumulator is available for higher injection speed, which, consequently, reduces cycle time.

activeQ – Active mould protection

From the Systec Smart level on, process stability and reliability are enhanced with a comprehensive monitoring package, called "activeQ". The sensitive, active mould protection system protects both the machine and mould. An electronic sensor determines the force required at the toggle, or the hydraulic pressure, depending on the particular design, during a normal cycle that is necessary for the movement of the mould and stores it as a master curve in the machine controller. During every cycle, the controller compares the variation of the force against the master curve. If the current values deviate, the clamping unit is actively stopped. The mould protection system responds even when highly dynamic movements occur, monitoring the machine actively over the complete cycle and without extending the cycle time.

Deviations can be caused by mouldings, which are stuck in the cavity, wear on moulds or malfunctioning cores or ejectors. activeQ means: active protection for expensive moulds for a longer service life.

Injection unit

The open and modular design of the injection unit provides easy access. Demag offers different easily and quickly adjustable screw geometries for special plasticising jobs.
The standard equipment is enhanced by the following additional upgrade options:

• Clamping force control
• Programmable nozzle contact force
• PDE statistics
• Ergostart machine presetting
• Start-up and shut-down program
• Change log
• Maintenance alert

In order to flexibly accommodate every application, all Demag Plastics Group screws are manufactured in-house. This approach ensures availability at all times. The high capacity and versatility of Demag production lines yields minimum delivery times not only for standard machines but even for custom-made machines and special geometries.
