Clamping unit

The System`s clamping unit with the short-length 5-point double-toggle provides fast, powerful movements and very sensitive slow-down during mould protection. Low-stress, uniform power transmission even where moulds are eccentrically placed is provided by the design of the moving platen with the links connected at the extreme outside and forces applied at an optimum angle. Two added advantages over full hydraulic machines: With ten per cent locking force reserve above the nominal clamping force, the 5-point double toggle ensures positive locking of the mould. In addition, the mechanical locking system generated energy savings of up to 15%.

Drives

The hydraulic variable volume pump system is the powerful heart of the System machines with clamping forces of between 4,200 kN and 20,000 kN. Modular for each clamp capacity, the pump system is available with two power ratings. The performance profile is characterised by high-precision pressure control, high responsiveness of flow control, a high degree of reproducibility and harmonious motions - it is possible for the user to select any desired pressure flow characteristic. A proportional valve as standard allows a synchronised operation of ejector and mould. The electric screw drive permits simultaneous plasticising and mould movement.

Injection unit

The Demag modular range of injection units provides excellent plasticising results and operating convenience: There is a choice of three injection units for each clamping unit, each with three screw cylinders made of wear-resistant bimetal alloy, as well as special screw geometries to suit various polymer material grades. The quick-action screw coupling allows a quick change of plasticising units.
